Time for Something New

Changes are afoot, dear friends. For a start, there's a shiny new blog - available at kevinmcmullintv.blogspot.com - unless you're reading this there... in which case Hello! you've found it.

Secondly, there's a new site in the works. More videos, and a brand new layout, and a brand new home. I hope it will be a big improvement. I don't intend to get rid of my freewebs site just yet though, so you can keep looking at it.

In other words, watch t...

There's something new on the blog... Categories. So now I can catagorise all my insane ramblings and make it easier to browse them.

In case you're wondering why I've gone quiet by the way. I'm making life taste better and trying something new [today] by working at Sainsburys over Christmas. The filmmaking will continue in January when I have a new documentary coming out, centred around my good friend [and voice over übermeister] David Malins, who has been dubbed "The As...

At the finish of a rally... comes a video.

This one needs no introduction. I had to use Google videos because of it's length, although I'm growing fonder of YouTube for the short ones. Anyway, enjoy it.

Rallying Success.

In just under 10 days, One of my short videos recieved over 2000 views on Youtube. It was this one. The Wales Rally GB News Segment, for Wheelnuts. This is the best result I've had on any of my videos so far! The Subaru gearbox change comes in at second place for number of views, which now has over 1000. The Stage guide has been up for 20 days, and yet has just over 420 views. And that's odd. I thought that the stage guide would proove more popular than the news segment. Wonder why that is.

I hate the web sometimes.

Posted by Kevin McMullin at 07:52 PM on November 17, 2008 Comments comments (0)
Argh! Why is the internet so hopeless? I can't find a single decent host for 16:9 videos anywhere - and even once you've got it onto youtube or google videos it has the quality and clarity of a half sucked jelly baby. This really isn't great if I want to show off a highly complex and great looking widescreen video.

So here's an offer. If you want a decent copy of my videos contact me via the contact form : [?http:/...

Rallying the questions.

Posted by Kevin McMullin at 06:17 AM on November 15, 2008 Comments comments (0)
So, press day for Wales Rally GB. I've never done one of these before and wasn't sure what to expect, but fortunately for me and Ulrich it turned out to be pretty straight forward.

Unfortunately, the weather was absolutely terrible. We found that the Z1 as usual hadn't been supplied with a rain cover [why not!?] and had to make our own out of a spare plastic bag. It still gave up later in the day though, ruining footage of an interview.

The interview...

Crazy Days!

Crikey! What a day. So far I've been told of a potential work experience placement a week on Monday, Been invited to a press day for the WRC's British round, Told of a Runner's job with ITV Wales, and invited for an interview. All in the space of an hour or so. Crazy days.

I've also got a confirmed work experience placement coming up, about which I am sworn to secrecy.

Oh and a media accreditation application for the London Motorsport show for 4-10. ...

Santa runs!

You get some very odd requests now and again. Have you noticed? One of the oddest ones yet was to film someone running around a park dressed as Santa to promote a charity fundraising attempt. Obviously I knew that this would draw attention, and be awkward to set up at short notice...

So here's the result.

The Britcar Silverstone 24 Hour Race.

Posted by Kevin McMullin at 05:00 PM on September 24, 2008 Comments comments (0)
Back from Silverstone, where I marshalled at the better than ever Britcar 24 hours. a fantastic race with a very unfortunate fly in the ointment. The cars charge past the union flag at the start, one of them spins, one of them tries to avoid it, but makes contact instead, flies across the track bounces off a wall and comes back into the path of the oncoming pack.

What ensued is far too nasty to be shown, so for those of you who have put it onto YouTube and not pulled it down,...

Making the Boring interesting.

Wow. Who would have thought that a quick 30 second video shot from a dodgy angle on a marshal's head would have proved so popular! Within a week it's already had close to 200 hits! Nothing to do with slightly putting the words "Top Gear" into the tags...

Something I came across lately was the video page on the official F1 website. If anyone has seen the "pinnacle" of motorsport lately, then you'll know that the racing has in fact, been very very dull indeed. The most in...
